DopeCool has gone through extreme lengths to secure an interview with the likes of Humble Dinosaur and Yves, what we had to do cannot be repeated (even here). These two guys have a radio show on WPKN (89.5 in Bridgeport & New Haven, 88.7 in Montauk, Westerly & New London) the show is known as HomeBass Radio.
Also check out some of Humble Dinosaur’s tracks on SoundCloud, HERE!
“We just got into it this because we love Dubstep! Period.”
DopeCool : How long have you been on WPKN?
Greg : since November of 08
During the mix a new Jakes track came on the decks.
DopeCool : New Jakes!!! you win… The best selection of now award by the way.
Greg : (Laughs) Sick, why thank you. We try to keep things up to scruff. Yves and I are here today on HomeBass Radio, my accomplice in all things dub, can’t forget the poet and the vandal himself.
DopeCool : Do you guys often work together?
Greg : Almost every step we take in dub is communicated, we’re working on a couple of tracks right now together.
DopeCool : Awesome news! We will have to upload some clips later. Do you guys have any other projects?
Greg : Couple of ventures in the fashion industry coming up. We wanna rock it justice-esque.
DopeCool : Interesting, and as a duo are you guys have a name?
Greg :We don’t have a name as yet dunno if we ever will most likely though.
DopeCool : Well then you won’t mind us thinking of name ideas. Anyway tell us how you got into this WPKN radio spot and why?
Greg : We just got into it this because we love Dubstep! Period. Thats why I produce and that’s why he [Yves] DJs, we bash shit of course. Theres other musical ingredients in what we do musically. Influences range from Horse the Band , Goldie, DJ Hype, random ass good shit.
Jack [DopeCool] : Does Satan or God influence you more?
Greg : Just the knowledge that there’s something greater.
DopeCool : How did you come up with the name Humble Dinosaur?
Greg : I came up with the name because I make sick ass tracks and I don’t brag, except for just now, but I had to explain.
DopeCool : Your answer to the satan and god question was very politically correct, are you usually a very refined person or do you have any stories that can prove otherwise? [This was asked while he dropped a track from 16Bit for all of Conn. and Long Island to hear]
Greg : I don’t know, I believe in the Big Bang Theory…
Jack [DopeCool] : Would you compare yourself more to Satan or god?
Greg : I do my share of bad shit that I always regret, I try not to make mistakes every day though.
DopeCool : Any stories in particular?
Greg : Worse it gets is graffiti shit. Never been locked up…that shit ain’t cool in the least, some would say I’m cautious.
DopeCool : Nice, We appreciate graffiti here.
Greg : That’s my other love besides music and my girl. That’s my third love; art period.
Yves : poetsnvandals.com
DopeCool : Anything you would like to add or end with?
Greg : Yeah… We got a remix comin of a couple of there tracks…..We been slacking (Laughs)… Yeah and I still got a track to finish with Mite. Shout to all New Paltz RODAN! and MR. BLOOM BILLIONAIRE! Shout to CUBAN D IN THE MIX!!!!! This is a new addition to our crew so far.
DopeCool : Cool, fan of Mite right here. Well we will be hearing more from you soon I hope!
